Phoenixville Tavern - Historical Exterior Restoration The existing building and second level porch were structurally sound. There was a previous, unsuccessful attempt to restore the exterior. Most of the work that was previously done had to be removed. We set up scaffold on the front and side of the building. We rebuilt the underside of the porch roof with bead-board. We wrapped the fascia and soffit and installed crown molding at the roof line. We wrapped the columns with Azek and re-created the arched panels from Azek. We installed Fairway Railing Systems on the porch. On the lower level, we removed the existing woodwork. We created sills and replaced all of the old woodwork with Azek. Then we applied decorative Azek trim pieces to create panel effects. The exterior was completely re-painted. Finally, new doors were installed on the front and side of the building. window, installed a new door and provided a handicap accessible ramp to the building.
